[Genesis Framework] How to make your site the same design as the demo site

There are many in the Genesis frameworkChild theme.

If you look at the demo sites that use child themes, they all look great, but they don't look the same in the initial state when you just upload the child theme.

This article describes how to customize your site to a demo page-like site design.

How to make it the same design as the demo site

1. Import demo content

Demo content refers to the content such as articles and comments that are displayed as samples on the demo page.

If you have already created your own site content (for example, you have already written the article content), you do not need to import the demo content.

Skip this item and carry out the next section as unnecessary sample articles will be added and become difficult to read.

Go to "Tools"-> "Import"-> "WordPress" from the dashboard
Install the WordPress Importer plugin.
Find the XML document named ○○○ .xml (example: brunch_demo.xml) from the downloaded theme file.
Run the plugin "WordPress Import Tool"
Select ○○○ .xml from "Select File" and "Upload and Import File"
Select yourself from the drop-down menu and assign it to "Contributors to import"
Check "Download and import attachments" and execute
If it is executed successfully, "WordPress Importer" will be unnecessary, so delete it

2.Import theme widgets

By doing this, you can instantly design your site like a demo page.It will automatically place all widgets and plugins in the same area as the demo page.

Before importing the widget, make sure you have all the plugins you need.

For example, brunch pro needed the following plugins:
There should be a list of required plugins on the child theme vendor's site.

Plugin	Features
Widget Importer and Exporter:	Will import the widget
Genesis Enews Extended:	Form for e-mail newsletter delivery registration
Simple Social Icons:	Link to your SNS profile
Genesis Simple Share:	SNS share button
WP Instagram Widget:	Show Instagram in widget
Yoast SEO Plugin:	Plugin for SEO.May not be needed for personal blogs
ShortPixel image optimizer:	Image optimization. Unlike EWWW Image Optimizer, it does not burden the server.
Regenerate Thumbnails:	Automatically generate an image of the size for thumbnails

Once you have all the plugins, download "Widget Importer & Exporter" and follow the steps below to import the widgets.

"Tools"-> "Widget Importer & Exporter"
From "Select File" ○○○.Select a wie file (eg brunch_widgets.wie)
Update all widgets with your information in "Import Widgets"-> "View"-> "Widgets"
Delete "Widget Importer and Exporter" after completion
